Stratification of postoperative complications in patients with complicated forms of colon cancer using the Clavien-Dindo scale

Abstract

The aim of the study. To analyze postoperative complications among patients operated on in general surgical hospitals for complicated forms of colon cancer using the standardized Clavien-Dindo scale. Object and research methods. The study included 180 (100%) patients with complicated forms of colon cancer, who were divided into two groups – the main (prospective) group – 109 (60.56%) patients and the comparison group (retrospective) – 71 (39.44%) patients. The gender structure of the study groups was as follows: in the main group – 57 (52.29%) women and 52 (47.71%) men, in the comparison group – 35 (49.29%) and 36 (50.71%) people, respectively, p=0.7369. The age of the patients was 69.78±16.37 years in the main group and 67.97±12.71 years in the comparison group, p=0.8745. Results. In the postoperative period, postoperative complications were detected in 32 (45.07%) patients of the comparison group and in 31 (28.44%) patients of the main group, U=31.50; p=0.0384. There were 15 (21.13%) deaths in the comparison group, in the main group – 12 (11.01%), U=24.00; p=0.0275. In 17 (54.84%) patients of the main group, complications of classes I-III on the CD scale prevailed, while among patients of the comparison group, complications of classes IV and V prevailed – 20 (62.50%) cases. Проаналізувати післяопераційні ускладнення у пацієнтів, оперованих у загальнохірургічних стаціонарах з приводу складних форм раку ободової кишки, за стандартизованою шкалою Clavien- Dindo. Об’єкт і методи дослідження. У дослідження було включено 180 (100%) пацієнтів зі складними формами раку ободової кишки, яких було розділено на дві групи – основну (проспективну) групу – 109 (60,56%) пацієнтів та групу порівняння (ретроспективну) – 71 (39,44%) пацієнт. Гендерна структура досліджуваних груп була такою: в основній групі – 57 (52,29%) жінок та 52 (47,71%) чоловіків, у групі порівняння – 35 (49,29%) та 36 (50,71%) осіб відповідно, p=0,7369. Вік пацієнтів становив 69,78±16,37 років в основній групі та 67,97±12,71 років у групі порівняння, p=0,8745. Результати. У післяопераційному періоді післяопераційні ускладнення виявлені у 32 (45,07%) пацієнтів групи порівняння та у 31 (28,44%) пацієнта основної групи, U=31,50; p=0,0384.
